Organization Overview
The Rockefeller University Hospital is funded by the National Institutes of Health and has 20 patient beds for clinical research. The Hospital provides researchers with an opportunity to conduct clinical studies and offers both normal volunteers and people with diseases under study the opportunity to stay in the hospital and help to contribute to important advances in science. The Hospital has an inpatient unit as well as an outpatient center where prospective patients are screened, and many outpatient studies are conducted. The Hospital is staffed 24 hours a day with professional nurses and has nutritional research, social work, art and recreation departments, and a radiology suite, as well as its own research pharmacy. Overview
The System Analyst will enhance the Cerner Community Works system, provide application systems and end-user support for hospital applications. This position interacts with users with updates on support tickets and follows proper troubleshooting procedures.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Enhance the Cerner Community Works system and provide application systems and end-user support for hospital applications.
Interact with users with updates on support tickets and follow proper troubleshooting procedures.
Perform, prepare and maintain systems and training documentation.
Assist in the development of processes and procedure for workflow improvement.
Coordinate and establish testing plans/scripts for use during troubleshooting and/or implementation.
Work with vendors, IT, and end users to maintain the applications configurations and enhancements for ongoing hospital operations.
Assist with developing AD-HOC reports using a reporting language and/or reporting tool.
Assist with proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation and offer/create viable recommendations/options.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
PREFERRED:
Comfortable working with end users and following up on requests.
Two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience in a healthcare or clinical research setting with EMRs is preferred.
