Organization Overview
The ultimate objective of the work in my laboratory is to understand the cellular and molecular basis of vertebrate embryonic induction, with a special emphasis on germ layer and organ formation. Toward this aim, we perform comparative studies using both amphibian and mammalian model systems, including human embryonic stem cells.
Overview
We seek an advanced microscopy Postdoctoral researcher to join us at the Laboratory of Synthetic Embryology. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in studying in vitro models of neurodegenerative disease, specifically investigating developmental aspects of Huntington’s Disease. Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Leading a project in advanced imaging and quantification analysis of live cells
Developing image analysis and visualization strategies
Mentoring research assistants
Qualifications
Required:
PhD degree in a relevant field such as biophysics, bioengineering, cell, or molecular biology
Expertise in confocal imaging techniques and equipment
Preferred:
Experience with single-molecule detection instrumentation and high/super-resolution optical imaging
Individuals with thorough working knowledge of molecular, stem-cell biology, biochemistry, and/or genetics are strongly encouraged to apply
Strong computational skills is a plus
Must be able to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Effective written and oral communication skills
Demonstrates an aptitude to be a lead author on peer-reviewed publications
