Organization Overview

The Rockefeller University Hospital is funded by the National Institutes of Health and has 20 patient beds for clinical research. The Hospital provides researchers with an opportunity to conduct clinical studies and offers both normal volunteers and people with diseases under study the opportunity to stay in the hospital and help to contribute to important advances in science. The Hospital has an inpatient unit as well as an outpatient center where prospective patients are screened, and many outpatient studies are conducted. The Hospital is staffed 24 hours a day with professional nurses and has nutritional research, social work, art and recreation departments, and a radiology suite, as well as its own research pharmacy. Overview

Research Facilitation Office (RFO) staff integrate inter-disciplinary collaboration through the Protocol Navigation process, which involves just-in-time support to MD, MD PhD and PhD investigators and coordinators for a breadth of protocol-related activities; the RFO also develops training materials and experiences to support investigator competence in Good Clinical Practice.

Responsibilities

Oversight and management of the RFO staff of clinical research coordinators who train and guide investigators and research teams in the development, design, implementation and conduct of clinical research protocols, including investigator-initiated and FDA-regulated studies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. Must have six plus years of experience in research protocol development and clinical coordination; experience managing staff; excellent working knowledge of Good Clinical practices (GCP), CFR and FDA guidelines; proficient with word processing, Excel, database, spreadsheets; REDCap experience a plus; attention to detail, accuracy, timeliness, organization and task ownership expected; must enjoy teaching and working collaboratively; also able to work independently and manage time effectively. CCRC certified upon or within year of hire.
