Rockefeller University Laboratory Manager in New York, New York
Dr. Lifton has pioneered the use of genetics and genomics to understand fundamental mechanisms underlying human diseases, including cardiovascular disease, neoplasia, kidney disease, and osteoporosis. He is especially known for research on hypertension and salt intake, work which has informed public health efforts and therapeutic strategies used worldwide. The laboratory uses large-scale genetics and genomics to identify mutations underlying human disease and their biochemical mechanisms.
The Laboratory Manager will be a key member of the scientific team, coordinating the daily administrative and scientific operations of a newly established laboratory. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, monitoring laboratory budgets and expenditures, purchasing laboratory supplies, maintaining equipment and service contracts, assisting with personnel matters, and other administrative duties as required. Will act as a liaison with all University departments and ensure compliance to all University policy requirements.
Bachelor's degree in science required; advanced degree desirable. Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory management and be able to work independently. Excellent organizational and communication skills necessary.
