The Collaborative Bioscience Center (CBC) and Center of Comparative Medicine and Pathology (CCMP) employ a staff of approximately 300, including 13 veterinarians (9 ACLAM and two additional ACVP/ECVP board-certified pathologists) responsible for the daily care and use of approximately 250,000 animals from a variety of species including mice, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, amphibia, livestock, fish, and non-human primates. Specialized facilities include a fully-equipped diagnostic laboratory and genetically engineered mouse phenotyping core, rodent and large animal imaging centers, as well as transmission and scanning electron and confocal microscopy facilities.
The Comparative Pathologist will join two other veterinary pathologists as part of The Laboratory of Comparative Pathology Tri-Institutional anatomic pathology program serving The Rockefeller University, Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Responsibilities include providing diagnostic and research pathology support and training. Collaborative and/or independent research is supported.
D.V.M./V.M.D. from an AVMA-accredited or equivalent institution required; certification by the American or European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP or ECVP) and/or a doctoral degree in a related discipline is preferred.
