Job Title Administrative Assistant (Salary Range: $70K - $80K)
Laboratory / Department Lymphocyte Dynamics
The Victora lab, led by Dr. Gabriel Victora, studies the basic biology of how antibodies are generated in response to infection and immunization. This includes the evolutionary process of affinity maturation in germinal centers, which is essential to improve antibodies' powerful targeting capabilities, and the dynamics with which the diversity of antibody responses are pruned and focused on subsequent exposures. Victora is a faculty member in the David Rockefeller Graduate Program, and the Tri-Institutional M.D.-Ph.D. Program. The Marraffini lab, led by Dr. Luciano Marraffini, investigates the molecular mechanisms that make CRISPR immunity possible, as well as its evolutionary implications. CRISPR-Cas systems enable bacteria and other microbes to acquire immunity against viruses by capturing snippets of their DNA. His lab also explores genome editing and other potential applications for CRISPR-Cas systems. Marraffini is a faculty member in the David Rockefeller Graduate Program, the Tri-Institutional M.D.-Ph.D. Program, and the Tri-Institutional Ph.D. Program in Chemical Biology.
